After last year's roaring success, Blockparty returns for another year! 2008's looking to dwarf 2007, as we continue our Five Years of Blockparty Pledge to bring you more of the top-flight demoparty action you've come to expect from us.

Blockparty Speakers!

We finalized our speakers list, and are proud to offer you six presentations by a whole range of folks, ranging from 8-bit wonder Jake "Virt" Kaufman and 6502 Goddess Jeri Ellsworth to the legendary Fat Man. Browse the speakers list for their presentations and biographies, and remember that the Blockparty presentations are just one part of the Notacon selection of speakers.

The Five Years of Blockparty

In 2007, we made the pledge that there would be five years of blockparties. The reason for this was simple: doing good demos and projects takes time and commitment. Who wants to work on a great entry and then have no place to show it? So here we are, returning to another year held in partnership with Notacon, which is itself celebrating its fifth year. A ticket to Blockparty is a ticket to Notacon; one ticket gets you everywhere.

New this year: Camps!

For this edition of Blockparty, we're introducing the idea of camps, extended sessions in a separate area of the party where camp instructors will give you hours to work out your own ideas and education on a couple of subjects. This year, the first two camps will be demo-making and circuit-bending. Come in and attend, even if you've never tried anything like this before... especially if you've never tried this before.

Get ready for the Competitions!

At the center of any demoparty are the competitions, where attendees compete for prizes and glory. Some entries are done months ahead of time while others crank out all night before the Saturday deadline. Show your skills and strut your stuff.
